It’s the weekend, and perhaps one of the last ones before going back to school or back to work. How are you using your summer weekend hours? I’m stocking up my freezer for a busy fall, and planning next week’s meals. What about you? And how’s your Kitchn Cure going, by the way? (Here’s today’s assignment; it’s a fun one!) Happy cooking, and don’t miss these posts from the past week:
The angle: For every occasion, there is a feast — from an afternoon scrounging for treasures at a flea market to the first snow day
Recipes for right now: Espresso Chocolate Chip Cookies, Turkish-Style Eggs with Yogurt, Mini Strawberry Cakes, Grilled Fennel & Watermelon Salad, BBQ Ribs with Coffee Mole Sauce, Cantaloupe Campari Granita
Who would enjoy this book? Cooks who love to throw gatherings big and small.
Q: Just read the article on organizing a freezer. Loved the containers used, especially the clear ones beside the ice maker. Have never seen anything like that in the store. Could you provide source information for the containers, please.

Day 10 Task: Buy That Pan or Small Appliance You Need
After deep-cleaning the oven, the stovetop, the range hood, and all the small appliances, today’s assignment for The Kitchn Cure is a fun one: buy that small appliance for your kitchen that you need! After a little brainstorming, I quickly got to work on that one thing I’ve been wanting for my kitchen for quite some time.
From Apartment Therapy → Small Kitchen Designs: 10 Organized, Efficient and Tiny Real-Life Kitchens
When you have a tiny kitchen, being organized and efficient are keys to making that kitchen function well.
Here are 10 real-life examples!
Whether you’re gearing up for fall or savoring every last bit of summer, we’ve got recipes to satisfy all your kitchen needs. If you’re looking for something sweet, try the raspberry lemonade bars, or the sweet biscuits with roasted peaches. If you want something for supper, go for the Southwestern-spiced pork tenderloin or cheesy packet potatoes. And remember to cool down with a delicious matcha green tea shake or low(er)-alcohol Diplomat cocktail.
How do you store your knives in the kitchen? There are advantages and limitations to every solution: Magnetic racks take up wall space (and scare some people!); knife blocks consume precious counter space; drawer inserts can monopolize a drawer better used for other things.
Here’s an interesting idea, and one that makes use of an otherwise unusable space: an ultra-narrow pull-out.
