I have a love/hate relationship with mugs. I don’t drink coffee, but I’ve still somehow managed to amass a pretty extensive mug collection, which I’m oddly and irrationally fond of. I see them as a scrapbook of my life. There are the ones from my alma mater, mugs gifted by visiting friends, and then some souvenirs from travel. Yet I probably only actually use one every week or so. At this point, they’re taking away precious kitchen cabinet space from my much-more-used wine glasses, and that’s just beyond the pale.

You might have thought Halloween was over, but this frightening tale says otherwise. In a video posted on Twitter by multiple sources, an unidentified man can be seen doing the unthinkable: sipping soup directly from a public ladle. Like Kate Bernot said on The Takeout, shaming people for doing things that could likely be an innocent mistake is not an internet phenomenon that I particularly enjoy, but this man. His body language seems to indicate that he knows he’s doing something wrong, and doesn’t care. So to heck with decorum, who is this man?

I am happy to report that I have found the best Halloween costume for an adult of 2018. Juan Ruiz dressed up as the Pioneer Woman’s new floral Instant Pot and no other costume comes close to being so funny. You might as well just go home now, because nothing can top this. I’m sorry, your “spooky witch” costume is not going to cut it this year.

Last week, the city of High Point, North Carolina, announced that it would be stepping in to prevent its citizens from handing out those gross peanut butter kiss candies. “Alright everybody, we’re giving you a one-week notice as you prepare for trick-or-treaters to remind y’all that by order of the City of High Point Emperor of Acceptable Candy (it’s a real thing), these are banned,” the City of High Point Government wrote on Facebook. “No one likes them, don’t give them out.”
