Put down your sad bowl of oatmeal, and feast your eyes on the most delightful breakfast creation. Union Fare Bakery in New York has created a red velvet croissant. This perfect mash-up involves the base of a buttery croissant and everyone’s favorite cocoa-y red velvet flavor. The croissant is filled with a cream cheese custard, and topped with red syrup and red velvet cake crumbs.

I’d like to wake up to one of these, please.

It’s a sad, sad tale, and one that’s no doubt caused a few New Year’s tears over the years — being saddled with an allergy to Champagne and feeling a little left out during the Auld Lang Syne toast.

That’s the case for one of my very dear friends, with whom we’ve been ringing in the New Year for the past decade. While he’s content to raise a bottle of Sam Adams in lieu of a Champagne flute, this year I’ve decided to give him something special and bubbly that mimics the festive feel of a sparkling wine without the pounding headaches. General Mills Expands Its Flour Recall Due to E. coli Fears — Food News

On May 31 of this year, General Mills issued a recall on 10 million pounds of flour across Gold Medal, Signature Kitchen, and Wondra brands due to fears that the flour might be contaminated with E. coli. On July 25, for the second time now, General Mills expanded this recall so it now includes 45 million pounds of flour with potential contamination across these three brands (see the full list of products here). The recall includes flour that was produced between November 4, 2015 to February 10, 2016.
