Put down your sad bowl of oatmeal, and feast your eyes on the most delightful breakfast creation. Union Fare Bakery in New York has created a red velvet croissant. This perfect mash-up involves the base of a buttery croissant and everyone’s favorite cocoa-y red velvet flavor. On May 31 of this year, General Mills issued a recall on 10 million pounds of flour across Gold Medal, Signature Kitchen, and Wondra brands due to fears that the flour might be contaminated with E. coli. On July 25, for the second time now, General Mills expanded this recall so it now includes 45 million pounds of flour with potential contamination across these three brands (see the full list of products here). The recall includes flour that was produced between November 4, 2015 to February 10, 2016.

If there was a summer side dish MVP, I have no doubt it would be awarded to gratins. They’re simple, versatile, and reliable — the kind of dish that’s worth turning on the oven for.
