Lemon Chicken

Lemon Chicken

Overheard at the market, “I’m a breast girl.” “Really? I’m definitely a thigh girl,” pause…”dark meat, so much more flavor.”

Had to laugh, I’m so so so much a thigh girl myself. What’s the secret to wonderful lemon chicken? Use chicken thighs (or legs, but thighs are easier to eat), bone-in and skin-on.

Lemon is acidic and helps balance the stronger flavor of the dark meat in thighs and legs, and the fat from the chicken skin.

Of course you can use chicken breasts if you prefer. Depending on the size of your pieces, you probably won’t need to cook them as long as thighs.

I Tried Meal Kits from Plated and Here’s What I Thought — Product Review

Service: Plated
Price: All of the meal kits serve two people at $12 per person. You can choose anywhere from two to seven dinners per week, and shipping is free unless you select just two dinners, in which case shipping is $6. In addition, you can upgrade any dinner to a Chef’s Table dinner, which includes specialty cuts of meat and seafood, for additional $2 to $18 per person, per dinner. You can also add dessert to the box for $4 per person, per dessert. The most popular kit is three dinners a week for $72.
Overall impression: I felt that Plated delivered exactly what they claimed they would: well-curated, crowd-pleasing recipes that were convenient and easy to prepare.

Recipe: DIY Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo Microwave Meal — Recipes from The Kitchn

Do you ever feel a little naughty eating pasta Alfredo? Like you’re doing something you shouldn’t, eating carbohydrates slathered in rich, creamy sauce? I do, sometimes. I also feel like having something green would completely cancel out any harm the cream may do to my arteries. And adding in a protein just makes it a perfectly balanced meal, right? Obviously, chicken and broccoli Alfredo is the perfect meal. It covers all the basic food groups including garlic and cheese (because those are in their own category — I’m sure of it).
